Peels

CHEMICAL PEEL

Chemical Peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It helps improve facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation.

Alphahydroxy Acids such as Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid are the mildest of the peel formulas and perform light to medium peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover from a deep peel. AHA peels may be used to treat wrinkling, dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Various concentrations of an AHA may be applied weekly or at larger intervals to obtain the best results.

Betahydroxy Acids such as Salicylic Acid are also effective, particularly for acne prone skin. BHA’s are lipid (oil) soluble. This means that Salicylic Acid is able to penetrate into the pore that contains sebum and exfoliate the dead skin cells that are blocking the pore. Effective mostly for oily and combination skin.

Using AHA’s and BHA’s in combination achieves a full spectrum exfoliation or peel that can more effectively treat your skin type and problem.

LACTIC peel

A lactic peel is a light chemical peel that is derived from milk. A lactic peel is one of the most mild and gentle cosmetic chemical peels available.

A lactic peel is an excellent and effective cosmetic chemical peel option for individuals who seek the enhancement of their facial skin without the irritation, discomfort, and recovery time associated with deeper peels. This technique can provide dramatic changes with virtually no skin redness or other unwanted after effects. You are able to resume normal activities after a lactic peel immediately. Because a lactic peel is the most gentle, it is a great option for those with sensitive skin who are worried about unwanted effects. Individuals with rosacea would also benefit more from a lactic peel.

The lactic peel works by loosening and reducing the glue-like substance that holds the damaged outer skin cells to each other and the underlying tissues. This action exfoliates the unhealthy layers of skin and also unblocks the follicles to reduce and prevent acne. The lactic peel then works deeper into the skin to help rejuvenate and regenerate collagen and elastin. This effect can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and make the skin more radiant, vibrant, and younger looking. Lactic peel treatments are a safe and effective way to achieve these results.

To achieve the desired results lactic peel treatments are repeated for a series of six to eight sessions combined with a home care regime. Maintenance lactic peel treatments may be recommended as needed. A patient’s treatment will be designed specifically with their aesthetic goals in mind.

GLYCOLIC peel

A glycolic peel is a light chemical peel that is an exceptional cosmetic option for individuals who seek smoother, youthful, and more radiant skin. A glycolic peel uses a mild alphahydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane to produce a light peel of the outermost damaged layers of the skin. It is an excellent non-surgical minimally invasive procedure that can improve fine facial wrinkles, acne, uneven pigment, and skin dryness.

A glycolic peel is an excellent alternative to deeper peels for those patients who do not wish to go through the discomfort and recovery period required after a deep peel. You are able to resume normal activities after a glycolic peel almost immediately.

The peeling process and results of a glycolic peel is very similar to the actions of a lactic peel.

A series of treatments is required combined with home care in order to achieve the optimal results.
